About Two Rivers Art Workshops
Two Rivers Art Workshops hosts a variety of art classes and workshops which have primarily focused on adults, however, based on popular demand we will now be offering classes for children. Whether you are just starting out or you are an experienced artist, there is a class for you. However, if we are not currently offering a class in your particular medium or at your skill level, we are always open to adding classes and venues and we always have classes and events in the queue waiting to be scheduled.
We are the outgrowth of finding and filling a need for workshops and classes in our area. Many of us were traveling far and wide to take classes with renown teachers. I was one of these. After doing this was several years, while taking a class with Karlyn Holman I asked if she would come to Virginia to teach. To my surprise, she said yes. Then, I asked Gerald Brommer and he said yes. Now, we were off and running and with two internationally recognized teachers and finding there was a definite market for more classes and more teachers-- the rest is history. Two Rivers Art Workshops is something like Topsy from Uncle Tom’s Cabin, we “…. [just]growed, however we have “growed” with intention and attention.
To date, we have been privileged to sponsor workshops with Tom Lynch, Don Andrews, Karlyn Holman and other distinguished teachers as well as several emerging teachers. In 2021, we have scheduled, among others, Skip Lawrence and David Kessler, both new to Two Rivers, and Tom Lynch will be returning for a Master’s Class.
One of the major perks of being a small business is that we listen to our students. We like to have their comments to improve our workshops and also appreciate their recommendations of teachers they like and would like to be able to take classes from them in our area. Because of these recommendations we have added basic classes as well as intermediate and accelerated classes. Two Rivers is here to help YOU develop and soar as an artist! That is our purpose. We are now attracting students from a 5-state radius and plan to expand this as we move forward with more classes/workshops/trips and retreats.
Another perk of being a small business is we will bring a workshop or workshops to YOUR community. Two Rivers is more than willing to do the “hard lifting” to set up, promote and manage these for YOUR community.
You can stop searching for YouTube Videos and sign up for a class where you will not only learn from the teacher but you will also benefit from being with like-minded people. I have found that being in a classroom setting helps me learn faster and gain insights from the other students as well as from the teacher.
